Hours of Conversation

Orange Sky is a not-for-profit organisation providing people experiencing homelessness with access to free laundry services, warm showers and genuine, non-judgmental conversation, across New Zealand.

Our mission is to positively connect communities by providing a safe, positive and supportive environment for people who are often ignored or feel disconnected from their community.

We currently operate three services in New Zealand. Our first service was launched in Auckland in October 2018, followed by a second one in Wellington a year later in October 2019! Our third van has hit Aotearoa soil and has commenced shifts in Auckland as of November 2021.

Orange Sky might be in the business of building vans, but it’s the local community who builds the service and creates a space where our friends feel welcome and connected – that’s why we want YOU to help us pick a name for our new van!

Each week, more than 100 volunteers give their time to help positively connect some of the 41,000 New Zealanders doing it tough. We want to make sure that everyone has access to free laundry and shower services - but most importantly - the opportunity to connect and feel welcome. Interested in getting involved? You can support your local community doing it tough by volunteering or donating.
